Honoring Our Military on Veteran’s Day

ICS would like to honor our employees in the military this Veteran’s Day.

“My name is SGT Owusu, I have been in the Army for 15 years – 8 years active and 7 years in the reserves. I have many skills including weapons, tactical movement, hand to hand combat, all military vehicle operations and also Color Guard instructor. I joined the military after September 11th.

I was determined to make a difference. I always put myself in a position to be of service to others, especially those less fortunate than myself. Serving your country in a time of war is admirable and courageous knowing that your life is in danger and even facing death. Transition from soldier to a soldier/civilian is hard, but with all of my accomplishments and achievements I always had great mentors and a great supportive system. One of the greatest quotes said to me by my mentor was, “Always be an asset, not a liability.” These words stuck with me for the rest of my life and I live by these simple words. That’s why I always give 200% in all my day to day actions and activities.”
