ICS Hosts Winter Wonderland Festival

Festivities, family and fun. What more could one hope for this frosty season?

On December 21st, ICS hosted our first ever Winter Wonderland Festival and the night was as spectacular as could be! Over 400 members of the ICS family joined us as we celebrated the year’s end with raffles, live performances and activities.

Teachers, students, and families from all three of our schools came together to put on a memorable winter festival that left us all eager for the next.

The celebration consisted of a Scholastic Book Fair, a sea of satisfying cuisine, local business vendors, an arts and crafts station, and a series of powerful performances from the students and teachers of Lavelle Prep, New Ventures, and Nicotra Early College charter schools. From Lavelle Prep, the talented students of the elementary music class, the elementary afterschool drama program, the high school drama class, the advanced music class, the dance program, the after-school music program, and the afterschool drama program, performed passionately at the festival. From New Ventures, student Chris Nunez performed the iconic Leonard Cohen hit Hallelujah, and from Nicotra Early College, students performed the holiday classic Last Christmas.

With each beaming performance, the students of ICS taught all of us the true meaning of the season: Spreading joy!

As the night went on, the hallowed halls of ICS were filled with the warmth of the holiday spirit. The inspiring artworks and joyous performances of our students brightened not only the school halls, but also the hearts of all who came to celebrate with us.
