Meet Danielle Jackson, proud mother of Lavelle alum, Nathaniel #HumansofICS
"I would like to celebrate Nathaniel Jackson and his incredible journey. Nathaniel's story began in public school, where he struggled to keep up, not due to a lack of effort, but because he was not given the proper tools to succeed. He was monitored, rather than taught, by underqualified staff. As a result, he became frustrated with the public school system that seemed to be failing him.
However, with persistence, we finally joined the ICS family. Since then, Nathaniel has made remarkable progress and grown tremendously, thanks to the opportunities, support, and guidance from Lavelle. He has been encouraged, and his grades have significantly improved. Lavelle has helped Nathaniel become an independent thinker, preparing him for a professional future.
I am deeply grateful to the teachers, guidance counselors, and administration who have supported and uplifted Nathaniel throughout the years, from 3rd to 12th grade.
Nathaniel has also earned his certificate of completion from the College of Staten Island for his work in Metagenomics: DNA Sequencing Research (2024). What an achievement! We are incredibly proud and thankful for all the services and support.
A special shout-out to Mrs. Liburd for presenting us with opportunities we otherwise may not have been aware of. Thank you for keeping the door open to new and exciting possibilities.
With this support, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, and the future looks bright for Nathaniel!"
