This summer, our middle school students are turning up the creativity with DJ Scratch Academy,

a partner bringing the energy, skills, and confidence of DJ culture to our program!

Founded by the legendary Jam Master Jay of RUN-D.M.C., this program is designed to break down the barrier to entry for aspiring DJs and producers. Through hands-on lessons and interactive sessions, students are learning the fundamentals of DJing, exploring music, building technical skills, and discovering new ways to express themselves.

From their first mix to creating their own sound, our students are gaining experience they’ll remember long after summer ends. We’re proud to partner with DJ Scratch Academy to give students the opportunity to learn, create, and shine behind the decks!

This year, DJ Scratch Academy will be offered as a STEM-based course at Richmond Preparatory Charter School, along with a hands-on fieldwork experience at New Ventures Charter School.
