New Ventures Charter School is a public transfer high school in central Staten Island that places students ages 16-21 on a personalized track toward obtaining their high school diploma.
As the No. 1 performing transfer charter school in New York State, New Ventures Charter School offers a personalized curriculum in a warm and nurturing environment to under-credited, disconnected youth pairing internships with fieldwork outside the classroom. Students are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the school year.
At New Ventures Charter School, we create a learning community in which students with differing learning needs develop the skills and social fluency to lead fulfilling and engaged lives in their communities.
At New Ventures, there’s no chance of feeling lost in the crowd. An individualized curriculum, combined with extra support in the classroom and real-world learning experiences, makes graduation a reality at our transfer high school.
Fully Inclusive Learning
We embrace diversity through integrating students with differing learning needs in our classrooms. New Ventures Charter School classes are comprised of 60% general education students and 40% special education students, each working alongside teachers at their own pace.
A Fresh Start
At New Ventures, it’s all about love without limitations. Students are “adopted” into school families that restore the confidence they may have lost along the way. We turn school into a safe space for learning and growing. A focus on relationships and rapport, combined with a personalized curriculum, propels each student to the finish line so they can earn the high school diploma they deserve.
Next Level Readiness
We aim to prepare students for success by providing the developmental skills and tools necessary to excel in higher education and the professional world. New Ventures fieldwork and internship programs offer students a unique opportunity to explore career aspirations and build connections while earning credits toward a high school diploma.
Student Wellness
We recognize the important role mental, emotional, and social wellness plays in fulfilling personal potential, even beyond the classroom. Our robust Wellness program guides students in managing stress, overcoming challenges and practicing conflict-resolution in their everyday lives.
