A separate application is required for each child. You can manage all of your applications through a single account on SchoolMint.
No, currently enrolled students do not need to reapply each year. Once enrolled, you'll have a seat every year unless you withdraw.
All applications submitted between the opening of the application period in October and the lottery deadline of April 1st are entered into the "lottery," where a random number is assigned to each applicant. Offers are then extended to applicants with the highest lottery numbers, based on available seats in each school and grade. Applications drawn in the lottery with a number that exceeds the available seats will go on the waitlist in lottery number order. Applications received after the Lottery Deadline of April 1st are placed at the bottom of the waitlist in the order in which they are received.
We use a random, automated lottery and are open to ALL students, regardless of cognitive or physical ability, athletic performance, special needs, or language proficiency. Per the law and according to our charter, we give preference to:
Students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Residents of Staten Island
Siblings of students currently enrolled in an ICS school
Students whose parents work at the ICS network office or one of our school
Applicants not selected in the lottery will be added to the waiting list and offered a seat as soon as one becomes available. If a seat becomes available in the same grade at one of our other schools, our enrollment team will contact you.
Yes; if you did not receive an offer in the previous year, you must submit a new application.
