As a charter school, ICS conducts an annual lottery in April to fill open seats across all of our schools. Those who apply will be placed on a school’s wait list and will be offered a seat based on seats available and position on the list. We continue to offer seats as they become available throughout the school year.

In accordance with the law and according to our charter, we give preference to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) residents of Staten Island, siblings of students currently enrolled in the same ICS school. We also give preference to students whose parents work at the ICS network office or one of our schools.

Yes, all of our schools are designed to be a fully inclusive environment, integrating students with and without Individualized Education Plans (IEP). In accordance with our charter, we give preference to students with IEPs. Our student population comprises 60% general education students and 40% students with IEPs.

The Department of Education (DOE) Office of Pupil Transportation determines students’ eligibility for bus transportation to and from school, and provides pick-up and drop-off service as appropriate. Generally, students that live in a 5 mile radius and are in grades Kindergarten through 7 are eligible. Bus routes and eligibility are determined in late August.

Our state-of-the-art building is within easy reach of the Staten Island Expressway and is accessible by the S46 bus. All students are eligible for a MetroCard, only if they are not opting for the yellow school bus. Students can also be eligible for door-to-door transportation if outlined in their IEP.
