Earn College Credits

A Head Start on College Success

Dual enrollment is at the heart of what makes ECCS an Early College school. Through our partnerships with Monroe College and the College of Staten Island, scholars have the opportunity to take authentic college courses taught at college-level standards while earning credits toward future degrees. Many Knights graduate from high school with college credits already completed, creating more opportunities, greater flexibility, and potential savings as they continue their educational journey.

College Credit Opportunities for Every Knight

At ECCS, college credit is an integral part of every scholar’s journey—not an opportunity reserved for a select few. Beginning as early as 10th grade, students can participate in a structured dual enrollment pathway through Monroe College, where each course builds upon the next and credits are earned toward future academic goals. From grades 10–12, every scholar is actively progressing through college-credit coursework or working toward a clearly defined readiness milestone with the support of our counseling team, ensuring every Knight has a meaningful path forward.

How Access Works: Two College Pathways

Monroe College

Most Knights begin here in grade 10, following a structured course and credit sequence that builds in its proper order, term after term.

College of Staten Island

CSI courses open once a scholar demonstrates CUNY proficiency in English and mathematics, which at ECCS means a score of 75 or higher on the English Regents and 70 or higher on the Algebra I Regents.
Our team tracks exactly where each Knight stands and what unlocks the next course, and preparing every scholar to reach these milestones is a central part of what we do.
